ABOUT MIMI

Mimi is a teaching artist through Millersville University South Central partners. Passionate about teaching – she uses a multidisciplinary approach to teach Book Arts, accessing inner creativity and freeform writing >
A graphic designer by training, Mimi is a collage artist and poetry writer. For mimi, creativity requires something new – a different interpretation – a break from the twin opiates of habit and cliché.
As she lets go – moving the paint on the page, adding wax, scratching back into the page, erasing that word and finding another one – she allows her creative process to play out through the poetry that is artistic creation. Mimi has written and designed six books of visual poems. Currently, she is working on a new book, titled “Mixed Feelings.”
Her books are included in the Jaffe Book Arts Collection, Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, Florida; The Ruth and Marvin Sackner Archive of Concrete & Visual Poetry, Miami, Florida; Bienes Center for the Literary Arts, Fort Lauderdale, Florida and the Free Library of Philadelphia, PA -Jump Start – Launching an Artist Book Collection. A file on her work exists at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in D.C.
